Why is Ellen DeGeneres such a Massive Success?

Do you have someone that just lights you up?  Someone that you admire from a far and wonder if your life can ever look like theirs?

Do you ever wonder how they got to that level of success?

I can assure you that they didn’t wake up that way.  It was a process, keep reading and find out what that looks like.

So…

I had a dream about Ellen last night, and no, not that kind, get your mind out of the gutter!

The kind where you have a heart to heart chat and share a soul moment.  I could see her soul deep within her eyes and all that she’s become and haven’t stopped smiling since I woke up!

She has a very contagious spirit and energy; would you like to know why?

Trust me, I’ve thought about this after watching many of her episodes and she resonates like a true woman on fire.  The one that has found her Zone of Genius and lives out her life purpose almost effortlessly.

How yummy is that?  Stop and taste that for a minute.  A woman that is crazy successful that gets to live out her life almost effortlessly?

Is that possible?

Hell yea it is!

I started to reflect upon my own life, how I used to feel when I wasn’t totally aligned with my own purpose.  I felt like my personal light was on dim, not the full-on 500 watts that I play at now.   I felt like I was playing in the shadows, as if I hadn’t given myself permission to be Karie.  When that limiting belief fell away… I started to shine.  The fierce power within my eyes became contagious as if I were igniting a fire within every woman I encountered.

When a woman or man finds their purpose and creates a way to give back to the world through that effortless presence, it’s called their zone of genius.  Abundance comes from that space as well, which is why Ellen is so successful!

Now let’s step back in time for a minute of when Ellen first started out in her career.  It wasn’t always in this yummy G-Spot Zone; wouldn’t you agree?

She started off as a stand-up comedian in the early 80’s (c’mon you have to just jump in somewhere, it doesn’t mean you’ll always stay there, the key is to jump), then on to the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson which led to Bob Newhart.

Fast forward through a few movie roles (and let’s not forget Finding Nemo – “Just keep swimming!”) and on to her own TV Show, called “The Ellen Show” which was when I really started to pay attention to her…

But let’s pause for a moment here.  You can see her light is shining* somewhat through this show but nothing like it is today!  Similar to a 100-watt lightbulb that could easily shine up to 500 watts when plugged into the right source.  On that show she wasn’t standing in her full power, her energy was still skeptical that others would see through her or discover this “truth” that she was dying to share with the world.

Once she came out on The Ellen Show as a lesbian, it was as if she was allowed to truly shine in her awesome light.  It’s as if she gave herself permission to be her true Goddess Self and with that wonderful act she gave so many others permission to be their true selves. What a Gift!!

Sadly “The Ellen Show” sitcom was not where her Genius was meant to shine fully and it didn’t survive the second attempt in 2001-2002.

Thankfully it didn’t because “The Ellen DeGeneres” Talk show is one big massive hit!  She shines like the lighthouse she was meant to be!  She creates laughter, opportunity, charitable acts and let’s not forget her yummy 12 days of giveaways that she does around Christmas.

Let’s also reflect that she has hosted the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, and the Primetime Emmys.  She has published 3 books and even started her own record company called Eleveneleven. (Us angel goddesses really love the 11:11 part) She’s won 13 Emmys, 14 People Choice Awards and about a zillion other awards for her work and charitable efforts.

Now let’s focus on my purpose for this article for a minute.  It’s not to shine a light on someone that already has done a fabulous job shining a light on herself.

It’s to remind everyone out there that we all have a Genius Zone.   A zone where what we do and who we are shines so bright and feels so effortless that it generates the inspiration and permission for others to shine as bright if not even brighter.

What if Ellen had stopped at doing stand-up?

What if she got defeated after her sitcom was cancelled and said, forget it, this world doesn’t want what I have to offer?

My favorite saying is,

“Just be YOU, and the world will adjust”

That’s exactly what her legacy and career has shown us, it’s shown us what is possible.

How beautiful is that?
