Adventure time! What are you waiting for???

photoI have to share with you a goal I had recently… Back in 2011 and 2012- I gave myself the challenge of trying something new every month and I held myself accountable for a year and a half. Everytime I accomplished a new experience, I COULD NOT wait to share the pictures with my inner circle and facebook page. I tried everything from White Water rafting (which I was terrified of) to sky diving. Sky diving didn’t scare me as much as rafting did. (more…)

Just keep swimming….

karie-blog-feature-5How do you relate to goals? Are they one big mountain looming in front of you that seems scary, overwhelming and you’re skeptical to even take the first step? Or…do you just shine a light on the path ahead of you long enough to get you to the next step… Which is the smart route to go – no need to see the WHOLE step by step process or figure it out all at once. Just keep taking steps… or as Dorothy would say in the movie, Nemo- “just keep swimming…just keep swimming”. Otherwise, the current will take you away or worse, you may sink to the bottom. Ok… so what does that mean exactly? What thoughts run through your head when you see or hear that particular saying?

I struggled with this for a long time- even until recently and it’s still a challenge for me. Those moms that are reading this may agree and relate. We love to take care of others, and feel great when we can do something wonderful for our children or partner. I call them “love tasks”. The key is, what about doing those exact same love tasks for yourself? (more…)

Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a rut? Are you seeking a new career but you’re struggling with finding something that matches your interest? Are you finding that the more you seek jobs that are out there or a new course of action, the more frustrated you are feeling? Why is it that in our 30’s and 40’s our purpose in life changes so dramatically from our 20’s? Ironically most of us were in our 20’s when we thought we chose a profession based on our college courses… Our need for true fulfillment shifts later in life over what professions are in demand right now.
