Book Description:

Would this day be any different than any other?  A trip to the doctor, a stop at the bakery, some work done around the house, then off to the woods to set up a ladder tree stand with the excitement of bow season just one week away.  After a challenging summer of repairs from a hail storm this hunting season came faster than I was prepared for.  My son-in-law and grandson would be expecting a place to hunt.  I start out for the woods with a spot in mind of where to set up the tree stand.  I left my cell phone at home, as I couldn’t get a signal, and didn’t notify anyone of where I was headed either.

Putting up the tree stand took longer than normal, and my knees started to lose feeling from kneeling on expanded metal.  As I stood up to step back to what I thought was the top rung of the ladder.  I mis stepped into nothing and fell 12 feet down!  As I grabbed for a limb, it broke off throwing me onto a tree stump.  I lay on the ground in shock, blood flowing from my mouth.  Three times I attempted to try to stand and fell on my face.  I couldn’t feel my right leg and I knew I needed to get help but how was I going to get there? …

To Be Eaten Alive, Was my Fear, Not my Faith.

About the Author:

G. L. Melvin was born on opening day of deer season, raised in Michigan and loves the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He discovered the love of Jesus at the young age of 9 and always felt a calling in his heart to lead others to the peace that God gave him.  By the age of 33 he chose to go into the ministry full time and is still active in the jail ministry after 20 years.  Today you can find him spending time with family, working in his shop, sharing the Gospel or scouting for that next hunting spot.
