Are you settling?

greater-thingsGuys...this is a tough one for me to write, because it  borders between being content or comfortable to being truly satisfied. I love the story of the ducks swimming in a puddle that was created by a recent rainstorm.  What’s better than imagining ducks playing and splashing in water is seeing the bigger view of them not knowing that there is a great big gorgeous pond just on the other side of the hill where they could swim and swim….They are most likely thinking that they've got it made in that little puddle, while they are missing out on a beautiful swim in the great big blue waters of life! Its ok…. its never too late

karie-blog-feature-2Have you ever had an experience like this? You just had a birthday and you’re shocked at the number of candles on your cake? You think to yourself, when did I turn this old? Where have the years gone and how did it all happen so fast? Ask yourself these two questions:

  1.           Am I content with how things are in my life right now?
  2. Or is there a feeling of panic just below the surface of your being?
I want to hold a mirror up to you right now and speak on this topic alone because I have had similar experiences as well. Good news my dear… there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m currently 39 years old, mother of a gorgeous and brilliant 9 year old daughter and I’ve already been a bride at one time in my life… needless to say, I don’t have the itch to be a mom or bride anytime soon. Abundance…not just surface appeal

karie-blog-feature-3Abundance… a word that is being used a lot these days... I see it in culture statements…quotes …inspiritational quotes…etc… Sooooo? What does it mean exactly? Everyone has an image that comes to their mind when they see the word…ABUNDANCE. You will see that my writing style is VERY blunt…non sugar coated verbal vomit. My fans truly love me! Most want the truth anyway… (more…)

Adventure time! What are you waiting for???

photoI have to share with you a goal I had recently… Back in 2011 and 2012- I gave myself the challenge of trying something new every month and I held myself accountable for a year and a half. Everytime I accomplished a new experience, I COULD NOT wait to share the pictures with my inner circle and facebook page. I tried everything from White Water rafting (which I was terrified of) to sky diving. Sky diving didn’t scare me as much as rafting did. (more…)

Just keep swimming….

karie-blog-feature-5How do you relate to goals? Are they one big mountain looming in front of you that seems scary, overwhelming and you’re skeptical to even take the first step? Or…do you just shine a light on the path ahead of you long enough to get you to the next step… Which is the smart route to go - no need to see the WHOLE step by step process or figure it out all at once. Just keep taking steps… or as Dorothy would say in the movie, Nemo- “just keep swimming…just keep swimming”. Otherwise, the current will take you away or worse, you may sink to the bottom. Is that where you want to be? With the other bottom feeders? (more…)

Time for a little self love…

11.0x5.5-NPPV08-39-Jaffe-Chicagoland-IL-CUST-4c-68701-Rindd.inddTime for a little Self Love...

Ok… so what does that mean exactly? What thoughts run through your head when you see or hear that particular saying? I struggled with this for a long time- even until recently and it’s still a challenge for me. Those moms that are reading this may agree and relate. We love to take care of others, and feel great when we can do something wonderful for our children or partner. I call them “love tasks”. The key is, what about doing those exact same love tasks for yourself? (more…)

Finding your Purpose

abundanceFinding your WHY... What is your purpose?

Have you ever felt like you’re stuck in a rut? Are you seeking a new career but you’re struggling with finding something that matches your interest? Are you finding that the more you seek jobs that are out there or a new course of action, the more frustrated you are feeling? Why is it that in our 30’s and 40’s our purpose in life changes so dramatically from our 20’s? Ironically most of us were in our 20’s when we thought we chose a profession based on our college courses… Our need for true fulfillment shifts later in life over what professions are in demand right now.
